Cross Country Trav Corps is a publicly traded healthcare staffing company. Their stock is traded on the Nasdaq exchange under the listing CCRN.
One of the great things about public companies is that they have to report almost every aspect of their financial activities to the public on a regular basis. Although it's not easy to find, the company has an annual report that you can download in Adobe Acrobat.
By reading the annual report to shareholders, you see that Cross Country Trav Corps has several brands (although not as many as AMN Helathcare). As of January of 2002, they own NovaPro, another travel nurse staffing agency. According to their literature, "Country Trav Corps offers nurses a more standardized benefits package while NovaPro targets nurses seeking more customized benefit packages."
They have a division known as "Assignment America" that recruits foreign trained nurses and brings them to work in hospitals in the United States. The majority of these international travelers come from Australia, UK, Ireland, and New Zealand.
Here's a list of other companies they have purchased:
Their annual report states that the company has a database of over 170,000 travel nurses and other healthcare professionals that have completed applications. It's also interesting to note that they finished 2002 with 121 recruiters. It wasn't clear whether that included the purchase of NovaPro, although I'm pretty sure that it does.
